These are the times that try men’s souls…or so it seems.

Here in Boston, we are experiencing historic snowfall, and sub zero temperatures.  Now don’t get me wrong…we are tough here in Beantown, Boston Strong and all…but this is capital TOUGH!  Blizzards twice weekly, snow up over our windows with nowhere else to put it…activities cancelled, public transport shut down, and OH, the driving!!!

I’m a hope-filled optimist by nature, but this requires me to DIG DEEP…or shovel deep anyway…this is a bi-weekly occurrence now…IMG_0977

And this is what I have come up with….

While it really, really stinks, it’s not catastrophic.  We are not cleaning up after a hurricane, or mourning a loved one swept away by a tsunami.  We aren’t looking at the remains of a home burned to the ground, underwater or otherwise devastated.  We have food, shelter, heat and lots of TV, books and wine. We have yoga mats to hit when we can’t take the daily walk, internet and smartphone to work from remotely, and so on.

All in all, as long as you don’t look out the window, or have to navigate traffic, it’s not so bad. In fact, it could be a whole lot worse.

And though I would probably get flogged for saying this out loud, I find the snowy landscape peaceful and quite beautiful.FullSizeRender (1)

Especially this valentine I came home to the other night..

Humor is a great way of coping with the Snowpocalypse, as we have taken to calling it…

Meet my snow removal team…

Dreaming of sunshine, ocean waves, summer nights, boat cruises, hammocks, lobster and champagne sunset picnics on the beach with my guy….somebody stop me…

If you live on the East Coast, hang tough, chins up, and don’t forget to lift from the knees!!!
